I recently learned by trial and error that aeneas cannot handle special characters or diacritics in the audio file name. It seems it can only handle the basic Roman alphabet and numbers. When I had diacritics in the name, it would not sync the audio to create the timing file. When I renamed the audio file, just removing the diacritics, then it worked.
