Speech Analyzer for Speech Pathology?

Are there any potential applications of Speech Analyzer for Speech Pathology and Speech Therapy?

I’m asking on behalf of a contact from the SIL Software website.

Thank you,

James

I’m married to a former Speech-language pathologist (SLP) who added:

Yes, definitely as a free resource that provides quality spectrograms, it is a great resource for SLPs to qualitatively examine motor speech skills and the impact of articulation differences on sounds produced. This may help in tracking one person’s improvement or adaptation or comparing across individuals. Visual feedback is a great tool to help clients develop meta-linguistic awareness and progress towards goals.
It’s not a tool I used in my training as an SLP (finished 2001) but it can be a great therapy and research tool.
