Outdated link to license

Hi, apologies if I am posting in the wrong place. Our site has been linking to what we believed was the correct location for the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The link we have been using is http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts/page.php?site_id=nrsi&id=OFL_web. Note that as of today, this produces a “Not Found” page. A few questions:

  1. Was that previously the correct link?
  2. We have hardcoded this link many (~1000) places on our site due to its nature. Is there any way that the above address could be updated to include a redirect to the appropriate new site, which I assume is on https://openfontlicense.org.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. That link should still be working (or autoforwarding), but we do want to encourage people to update to the new website.

Thanks so much for the quick response. Going forward we will transition to linking to the new website, but for retroactive work, will you be looking in to fixing that broken link on your side? Just trying to help decide how we address this on our side. Thanks again!

We are hoping to get a redirect in place within 24-48 hours. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear. Our goal is NOT to totally break everybody’s links! I think because your link was to OFL_web and not OFL it didn’t get included in our list of redirects.

It’s fixed now. There’s a redirect in place.
