Can't install classical greek in Ubuntu Studio

I installed the Keyman application in Ubuntu Studio 20.04 and added the Greek Classical keyboard in that. Now, I can’t add the keyboard in the keyboard settings, to use it in Ubuntu Studio. I can add all greek keyboards available in the Ubuntu Studio system, the Onboard keyboard shows those, but not the Keyman Greek Classical. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi there

Can you clarify that you installed Keyman with these steps? (from https://help.keyman.com/products/linux/13.0/common)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:keymanapp/keyman
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install keyman ibus-keyman onboard

You can verify the Keyman version from a terminal:
km-config --version
If you’ve added the Keyman ppa, you should get 13.0.

After installing a keyboard package, there may be additional steps found under “Install the Input Source in Region & Language Settings” before the keyboard is visible

To help us troubleshoot, can you provide the name of the Greek classical keyboard you’re wanting to install?

I can confirm that the keyboard is not visible in the keyboard list after it’s installed. Let’s track the issue here: https://github.com/keymanapp/keyman/issues/3850.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I confirm I have the version 13.0.103 of Keyman installed, I checked again the steps you indicated. I am using Ubuntu Studio 20.04 with the Plasma interface. I have the Greek Classical 1.2 installed and listed in Keyman Configuration, but I cannot add it in the System Settings, where I only find the usual Greek (polytonic) layout I could choose from the list provided by Ubuntu. Am I missing something here? Thank you.

This issue has been fixed in the soon-to-be-released Keyman 14.

To test its alpha, please follow the instruction here: https://github.com/keymanapp/keyman/wiki/How-to-install-nightly-packages-of-Keyman-for-Linux.

Keyman 14 Beta is scheduled for early December.
