I am trying to install an IPA font for multiple language teaching. The hardware/ software are irrelevant. What is the simplest way to do this? The IPA was a common feature, not Unicode, until 2015. Thanks for any information.

Gentium Plus (2700 chars)
SIL has 3 fonts that are well suited for linguistic IPA work:
- https://software.sil.org/doulos/ (has Regular/Bold/Italic/Bold-Italic)
- https://software.sil.org/doulos/ (has Regular face only, looks similar to Times New Roman)
- https://software.sil.org/gentium/ (Gentium Plus currently has Regular and Italic)
We also have Andika https://software.sil.org/andika/ what has the same character set, but it is sans-serif and probably wouldn’t be acceptable for linguistic papers.
