I am experimenting whether the “careful speech” feature can help with re-recording crafted Bible stories after making corrections. Rerecording the story from scratch always has the risk that new errors creep in. Editing a file with audacity is difficult for some people, and there always will be a difference in sound quality.
With “careful speech”, we can have the storyteller listen to the original story bit by bit, and make corrections when they want it. But I discovered you cannot then export just the new recording. I found out I can open the created audio file in audacity, delete the tracks of the original file, and then “truncate silence” to create a file without unnecessary pauses, but this is not such an easy process to teach to every facilitator. It would be nice if SayMore would be able to do this for people.
