While typing email in Outlook and switching keyboard to ecwepemctsin keyboard (via keyman) font is changes from Aptos to Arial

We’ve been dealing with this issue for a while now, and it typically occurs only in the Outlook program on my computer. I haven’t experienced it in other applications, like Word or others.

The issue is intermittent and usually starts while typing an email and switching the keyboard to Keyman. It began after I switched to the Secwepemctsin keyboard (via Keyman). When this happens, the font changes from Aptos to Arial automatically, and then I have to redo it every time.

I’m hoping you have any resolution or advice for it.

Thank you so much.

reinstall and update the Keyman keyboard reinstall M365 apps mess around with keyboard configuration

Welcome to the community @Bardia,

I’m writing in Outlook with the Secwepemctsín keyman keyboard and Windows English keyboard, switching back and forth, but the font remains in Aptos.

Could you try changing the Messages format to HTML?
Go to File > Options > Mail > Select the following:

Let us know if the issue persists.

This is probably happening because the Aptos font is missing one letter that is in Arial. The Font Helper in Keyman can help identify which characters might be missing from the font.

Hi Mengheng,

Thank you for the response. I changed the default font in Outlook to Arial and the user hasn’t experienced the issue again, so I believe the problem has been resolved. However, I checked the resolution that you mentioned and it was already set to HTML.
Thank you
