Version 17.0 gets Error 12045

When I try to install version 17.0.326, I get an error 12045 (The certificate authority is invalid or incorrect). Everything else (MS Office, Splashtop, etc.) is installing fine. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the community @Roderick_Young,

Could you tell me the OS you are using, and which Keyman Product is it or is it all of Keyman Products?

Is the error from an attempt to update the app from a previous version, or download from a browser?

Thanks!

Hi!

We’re using Windows 11, and it’s Keyman for Windows, specifically trying to install the Dene language. It’s a new installation.

Thanks!

Hi @Roderick_Young,

Could you try installing the keyboard again using this guide?

If you encounter any crash report or error messages, be sure to send them here.

Ah - there’s the problem. The first thing in that guide is “Start Keyman”. I get the error I described when I try to install Keyan, so I can’t get there.

This error usually indicates that the certificate store is out of date on your computer; it can also be an indication of a proxy or even malware running intercepting your internet connection.

As a workaround, you can:

  1. Download the full installer for Keyman for Windows from the bottom of the page at Download Keyman for Windows 17.0. When you start the installer, Ignore any internet connection errors to complete the installation.
  2. You can then download the Dene keyboard .kmp package file from https://keyman.com/go/package/download/dene?version=2.1&tier=stable and double-click it to install it into Keyman.

OK, I’ll try that when I’m back from vacation. Thanks very much for your assistance!
