Google announced the transition to a new format - aab. The future of Android App Bundles is here What changes are planned considering this news?
Each of the App Builders support building Android App Bundles. You will still need to build an APK in order to test on your device before uploading to Google Play. In the Build menu there is a menu item for “Build Android App Bundle” which will build the Android app and generates an Android App Bundle (AAB) and writes it to the Apk Output folder.
