I am importing my book from docx but I can’t seem to find a way (easy or otherwise) to have a second table of contents with the chapter headings or sections in it. I can make a second table of contents but how do I get the list of chapters to come up? It is kind of important because I am putting in two books, a commentary on the OT and a commentary on the NT so scrolling is just not a good idea for such large content.
I also have a concordance, which again needs a table of contents for each letter. I would love to have the alphabet across the top like a dictionary, is that possible in this app or do I have to use the dictionary one?
Even though it’s not a Bible per se, I recommend using Scripture App Builder. The top menu can offer a square with a number for each chapter. Not sure off the top of my head about the concordance.
You can launch SAB and open your RAB project from there.
You might need to switch to USFM. There are lots of posts on the SAB community forum that help with that.
Thanks, will give that a try! Definitely had to google what USFM is…this is a learning curve for me. Never done coding and app stuff before. Kind of fun to learn though.
It’s fairly tame as far as programming languages go. Even tamer than HTML I’d say!
If you use SAB and add the book as a Word doc, you can click on the book in the left-side project menu (under Main Collection) and get a bunch of book tabs in the configuration area on the right. Click on Book File and you’ll see that SAB has converted your Word doc into SFM (a subset of USFM). You can then click Export As Text File to save your Word doc in SFM. That will give you a lot more control over formatting. (Remove the original Word doc from your project and add the SFM text file in its place). If you use chapter markers (\c) for your chapters, SAB will automatically create a chapter selector in the app’s menu. Create a contents menu to point to specific books and/or chapters. Let me know if you need help!
Excellent, I will give it a try and let you know if I get lost. Thanks!
