Is there any difference in terms of performance between following two rules?

[RALT K_A] > 'ä'
[RALT K_A] > U+00E4

I don’t think so, since both rules compile to the same result, and it is the compiled form that is used by the Keyman engine on the specific platform.

(Someone from the Keyman development team can correct me if I’m wrong.)
