Bloom’s “onscreen” keyboard with special characters activated by a long press on certain standard keys/letters is great, although for sustained typing a keyboard manager, such as Keyman, is easier to use.
I think some Bloom users may not be aware of this, and especially that it works on a traditional computer with physical keyboard as well as on a touchscreen device.
I particularly like the ability to insert curly quotation marks [“ ”] with " key options, [‘ ’] with \ key options, and the straight glottal stop (U+A78C) [ꞌ] with apostrophe key options.
Could the curly glottal stop [ʼ] at (U+02BC) be added as well, please? Seems like in PNG, preference for curly vs. straight glottal is split pretty evenly! I know it’s impossible to add every request, but this is a very commonly needed character in Pacific languages.
(Neither of these glottal characters shows up very clearly in this post, but the SIL fonts display them well.)
