When the Image Description Tool was first introduced, there was an issue that prevented ePUB readers from finding and playing recorded audio image descriptions. So you all added a check box to add the descriptions to the page:
I think that that limitation has been eliminated. ereaders now do find and play image descriptions that are not on the page. This may be a candidate for a feature that can safely be removed.
