License notation for use of SIL OPEN FONTs in embedded products

Hello !

[Question]
In the case of our product which is not distributed or disclosed to the user in the form of a software release package, do we need to do something special to make the license explicit (e.g. write in the instruction manual that we are using OFL)?

[Background of the question]
This is because we make embedded product(electronic musical instrument), so the software binary for displaying the font is embedded in the product software. There is no way to explicitly disclose the use of OFL.txt and OFL-FAQ.txt as it stands now.

Thank you

In most cases it is enough to place the brief copyright and license notice in the instruction manual, such as “Font <fontname> is copyright (c) <dates>, (<URL|email>), with Reserved Font Name <Reserved Font Name>. This Font Software is licensed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1.”

For more information see the OFL-FAQ starting with question 1.20.

Thank you for your reply!
