Keyman on iPhone - a few basic questions

  2. When trying to install a Tamil keyboard (Anjal Paangu), iPhone doesn’t let me open the link, it says ‘Unsupported URL’.

Hello, and welcome to our community site. Thanks for posting about your issue!

  1. Can Keyman be used directly inside an app, like WhatsApp?

It can.

Whenever you start up the app, you should be presented with a “Get Started” menu; you can also find this under the menu at the top right (or, on tablets, an icon that resembles a notepad). From there, choose the second option, following the instructions there. (“Set up Keyman as system-wide keyboard”)

The in-app “Get Started” link provides a shortcut through the first few steps on this page: Installing the Keyman System Keyboard - Keyman for iPhone and iPad Help. That page also documents the set-up process for using Keyman within other apps, and its steps can be followed without loading the Keyman app itself.

  1. When trying to install a Tamil keyboard (Anjal Paangu), iPhone doesn’t let me open the link, it says ‘Unsupported URL’.

What steps are you taking to install said Tamil keyboard? Did you use the in-app search features, or did you use a different approach to load the keyboard package on your phone?
