Keyman isn't working with macOS Catalina

I have a Mac (Catalina) and I can’t get Keyman to work on my computer. I’ve installed the newest version and an older version of Keyman (16.0.13vb) as some other posts suggested and I still face the same issues.

  • There is no configure setting to click on after installing.
  • It doesn’t show up in my input monitoring settings under the privacy setting.
  • I was never promoted to allow access for Keyman during installation.
  • I’ve tried manually moving Keyman into the input monitoring folder through Finder-- no changes.
  • I’ve restarted my computer several times.

Can anyone solve this issue?

This has been a known issue on macOS Catalina, so rest assured that we are looking to fix this. I have also mentioned this topic on GitHub. Please follow our progress there, and be notified for any updates.

Your crash report will help us further understand the underlying issue. By trying to recreate the issue, it will hopefully list the crash information in the Console. Would you be able to send me the crash reports about Keyman, here are the simple steps to get the crash reports.

The fix for this issue on macOS Catalina is now available on Keyman v17.0.329.
