I have recently updated my Macbook and I am unable to install all the keyboards I need for Sanskrit transliteration. I have download several of the .kmp files but they don’t seem to work. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Keyman shows in my Input Source.
Hello @Shyam,
Thanks for confirming that Keyman is in the Input Source. Would you mind answering a few more things?
- What is your current version of Keyman?
- After downloading the .kmp file then clicking on the file, does it proceed to the prompt as shown below?
- Once the keyboard installed successfully into Keyman, could you confirm that it is listed under Keyman?
Please consider download the keyboard through the “Configuration” in Keyman for quick keyboard installations. Here is the guide for that.
Should there be further questions, don’t hesitate to let us know.
Hello @mengheng,
Thank you for getting back to me. The version of Keyman I am using is 17.0.335 which I believe is the latest.
I don’t get the window you reference in point when I click on the .kmp file. Nothing really happens when I click on the .kmp file.
Here is what I have listed under keyman currently:
- Vedic Sanskrit Devanagari Phonetic (ITRANS)
- Sanskrit Unicode
I am not able to go through Configuration as everytime I click on the Configuration in Keyman - nothing happens.
Hopefully you can assist.
Thank you,
Shyamala
Hi @Shyam,
I understand the issue a bit more now. Were these keyboards downloaded through Configuration in Keyman?
- Vedic Sanskrit Devanagari Phonetic (ITRANS)
- Sanskrit Unicode
If you have trouble going through Configuration again after installation then please search and install keyboards through keyman.com. Then, you can understand my reference of question 2.
The issue you described has been reported on our GitHub “#13718: bug(mac): configuration in Keyman can’t be opened after a success keyboard installation through configuration”. If there are any missing information, please add them.
I hope this help solve your issue for now as we look to resolve the bug report.
Thank you!
Hi @mengheng,
The Vedic Sanskrit Devanagari Phonetic (ITRANS) and Sanskrit Unicode were installed when I was installing Keyman. At that time I did not get any other options.
I have downloaded the relevant .kmp files but when I click on them nothing happens - it does not give me the install keyman keyboard option.
I will have a look at the configuration issues that you have noted above will add anything that is missing.
Thank you,
Shyamala
Yes, please add any information that is relevant, or create an entirely new report for this unique issue with reproducible steps here.
Does the issue above happen during this?
Thank you!
Hi,
The issue with the .kmp files occurs when I double click on them. I do not get the install window. The Configuration is separate issue.
Thanks.
Hello @Shyam,
Please install Keyman 18.0.235 for the fix of this.
Hello @mengheng,
I have done this and still experiencing the same issue. There is no window that appears when I click on the configuration menu. In addition when I download the .kmp files - the dialog box window does not appear.
I have tried Uninstalling and Reinstalling and Restarting the computer but nothing seems to work. It all worked fine in my old Mac with the Monteray Operating System. Is is just not working with Sequoia.
Let me know if you can assist in anyway.
Thank you.
Hello @Shyam,
After installing Keyman v18.0.235 did you restart your machine?
I am going to send you a private massage of the time for an online help support.
Hello @mengheng,
Yes I did restart the computer after the installation. Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon regarding online help support.
Keyman for macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 is still having this issue. Please refer to GitHub “#13718: bug(mac): configuration in Keyman can’t be opened after a success keyboard installation through configuration” for our progress.
Thanks!
