Working with @diane_hintz_sil_org today, I was able to diagnose the issue here. Turns out it was a conflict with speech recognition. We opted to disable speech recognition on Diane’s machine and that resolved the problem for her.

I believe I know how to implement a proper fix in Keyman at #4965.

We have a fix for this problem in test at #5000. This will be released for 14.0-stable shortly.
