I’ve downloaded Keyman and the EuroLatin keyboard. When I type for example “l’enfant” I get “lénfant”. Is it possible to control when a special character is inserted?
Hi @John_F
When the Keyman EuroLatin keyboard is selected, you can follow the typing charts to control what special characters are inserted:
https://help.keyman.com/keyboard/sil_euro_latin/3.0.2/sil_euro_latin
On Keyman for Windows and Keyman for Linux, there’s an “Options” page to toggle whether you want to type the special character before or after the letter.
For l’enfant in EuroLatin keyboard, press the ' twice before pressing the e.
Darcy, and others, I don’t see this info on the help page.
That works. Is that customizable? For example pressing the Tab key would convert :o to ö, :a to ä and so on.
From what I can tell pressing the symbol twice works for all sorts of sequences.
for :o press colon twice, then o.
for :a press colon twice, then a.
It’s not currently possible to do what you are asking with the Eurolatin keyboard as it stands.
However, the source for the keyboard is available here, so you could download it and make your own customisations to it to do whatever you like
