@ross this corresponds to Sentry report KEYMAN-WINDOWS-4XW. Can you investigate? kmshell shouldn’t be crashing in this situation, but I think the error might just have been a network glitch (12002 = ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT)
@Astrid, can you try again to install the SIL IPA keyboard? If it still doesn’t work through the Download Keyboard dialog, you could download the IPA keyboard directly from https://keyman.com/go/package/download/sil_ipa?version=2.0.1&tier=stable and then use the Install Keyboard button to install that package from your system.
I will have a look at this tomorrow.
In the meantime I have at least managed to download sil_ipa.kmp from a stable link that the other responder sent me. When I install it, the laptop proceeds, but when I look after it at my keyman keyboards, even after a restart of the laptop, it is not there to choose for typing in it. In which subfolder does this file need to sit, in order to show up in keyman?
I have found help in the meantime, and now it works. Thanks to all who contributed.
