I wanted to type Octopus in Bengali script (অক্টোপাস) in Macbook, but it works in my Windows computer but not in the Macbook

We’ll look into this further as we are unable to get the correct key strokes at the moment.

Typing the same keyboard should get the same result on Windows and Macbook.

  1. Can you let us know which keys you used and the result for both machine?
  2. Could you give the name of the Keyman keyboard?

I was able to map only স = m প = h ক = k with the Bengali - INSCRIPT Basic.

    All the conjuncts in macbook pro in Microsoft Word does not produce the correct results. For example, the keys “akTopaasa” gives the wrong result which cannot be produced here.

But when copied and pasted here produces the correct result as অক্টোপাস

Thanks for responding and let us have some time to look into this.

I could reproduce the behavior and has sent a feedback to the Microsoft Team for further investigation.

If I can find a version of Word that works with this keyboard, I’ll let you know. Otherwise, please follow bug(mac): MS Word rendering logic for Bengali Phonetic (ITRANS) · Issue #14160 · keymanapp/keyman · GitHub for updates.

As a workaround, please use Google docs or KeymanWeb.
