Audio book auto play option

Having made a number of audio books, when showing them to different people, nearly every time, once the audio on the initial cover/splash screen finishes, the person waits for the next screen to appear and I have to show them that they need to swipe it.
It would be really helpful if in the Editor, an option could be added so that there is a choice for having the default operation of the book as Auto-play (that is, once the audio of the current screen has completed, the next screen is automatically loaded) or Manual Play (as it is now). Then in the Reader, there is also a switch allowing the user to select what they prefer.
A practical example of this is that many people like to listen to a story while doing something else, like food preperation or washing up. They simply want to listen to a continuous story without constantly having to go back to the phone to swipe it, possibly with dirty fingers.
One additional option would be to have a variable that sets time delay between ending one screen and starting the other.
Also, if there is a collection containing many short books (e.g. Bible for Children), it would be useful to have the abillity to load and ‘run’ the next book in the sequence (a book could contain the ID of the next book to play if enabled).
Thanks

Thanks for this suggestion.

For this particular use case where the visual is superfluous, a workaround solution would be to publish the book as an .mp3 audio (using Bloom’s Publish to Audio or Video).

Publishing the book to a video also results in a book that auto-advances the pages. You don’t read the book in Bloom Reader, of course.

I wouldn’t argue that the visual is superfluous. Even while washing the laundry, washing the dishes, cooking, separating grains, deshelling cacao pods, etc, it’s quite easy to place the phone in a place that you can see it and watch it as it plays, even if it’s not convenient to be touching it.

Who here hasn’t put a YouTube video on while working on something?

Exporting to .mp3 is an option, but the visuals often provide important clues to guide the reader. Exporting to .mp4 (video) is another option, but there the issue is file size, making it hard to download and share.

If this feature is implemented, it would need to keep the screen on.

I am having a similar issue with my SAB Song Book app. In 2020 it used to play continuously, but a long time ago it stopped and now I have to hit play with each consecutive song. But I digress… that’s a bug report for another place.
