Announcing Bloom 4.1 Release

Here’s are some highlights:

  • 104 Bug fixes

  • Settings

    • You can now customize how Language 2 and Language 3 are displayed, just like you previously could for Language 1.

  • Edit Tab

    • We enhanced the “Paste Image Credits” function to include the page numbers where the images are located.
    • You can now reach the “Change Layout” button when in “Device 16x9” page size
    • User interface-simplification: we have organized all page-related buttons together in lower left corner.
      • Move the unlocking button to a more obvious location
  • Publish

    • Bloom now ships with the mp3 encoder (“LAME”), so you no longer need to install that separately in order to make talking books.
  • Art Of Reading

    • AOR 3.3 offers the new, more permissive “Share Alike” Creative Commons License

If you are using Bloom 4.0 Release, Bloom should automatically ask to update itself. Otherwise, windows users can get 4.1 from the Bloom downloads page. Here are the Linux installation instructions. As usual, you can have the Release & Beta versions installed at the same time, and open books on either.
